Hello Davao, Niabot na Jud ang Imong Greener Ride!

There are moments when you can feel a city shifting.
Not loudly.
Not dramatically.
But quietly, in a way that tells you something new is about to become part of everyday life.
That’s exactly how it felt when I attended the official launch of Green GSM Taxi and the Green GSM App in Davao City.
I was there in Sasa, alongside members of the Davao Bloggers Society and several other prominent bloggers operating in the city.
The energy in the venue was unmistakable.
People weren’t just curious—they were genuinely excited.
We all knew we were witnessing something new for Davao: the arrival of the city’s first all-electric vehicle taxi service.
For a city that’s growing fast and moving even faster, Green GSM feels like the right kind of next step.
Why Green GSM Feels Different Right Away
Davao has no shortage of ways to get around. Jeeps, taxis, ride-hailing apps—we’re familiar with them all. But Green GSM instantly stood out because it isn’t just another transport option.
It represents a shift in mindset.
Green GSM is built around one clear vision: accelerating the world’s move to greener, more sustainable mobility.
And that vision isn’t just marketing talk.
It’s in everything they do—from the vehicles they use, to the technology behind the app, to the culture of the company itself.

This is green mobility, done intentionally.
The First All-Electric Taxi Service in Davao City
What made the launch especially exciting for everyone in attendance was the simple fact that Green GSM is the first and only taxi service in Davao powered entirely by electric vehicles.

No engine noise.
No fuel smell.
No exhaust emissions.
Yes!
Their services are powered by VinFast electric vehicles, which are designed to be quiet, clean, and environmentally friendly—better for passengers, drivers, and the city as a whole.
As someone who’s been following electric vehicles and the Vinfast brand closely, this is especially special for me. It’s like everything coming full circle. Like somehow I wished it and it came true.
I’ve been deeply interested in VinFast ever since I fell in love with the VinFast VF-3.
So when I learned that Green GSM exclusively uses VinFast electric vehicles, my excitement doubled instantly.
Oh Santa… did you just grant this little boy’s dream?

VinFast isn’t just another EV brand to me—it represents accessibility, practicality, and a clear commitment to electrification. Seeing those vehicles parked in the lot in Sasa with the potential of them operating as taxis in Davao soon felt surreal in the best way possible.

It’s one thing to admire EVs online.
It’s another thing to see them about to become part of your daily commute.
A Quick Look at Green GSM’s Roots
Green GSM—short for Green and Smart Mobility—was established after Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong announced its formation on March 6, 2023.
(if that isn’t a bigger coincidence, I don’t know what is. March 6 is my birthday!)
The goal was ambitious from day one:
to create the world’s first multi-platform electric vehicle transportation ecosystem.
GSM operates primarily in two areas:
- Electric car booking services
- Electric car and motorbike rentals
With an investment scale of 20,000 electric cars and 60,000 electric motorbikes, GSM is working toward making green transportation accessible to everyone—not just early adopters. Sadly, all they have in Davao for now are the cars and not yet the motorbikes.
Their long-term mission is clear:
to popularize the habit of choosing electric vehicles and raise awareness about how convenient, intelligent, and sustainable green mobility can be in everyday life.
Green GSM’s Core Values You Can Actually Feel
During the launch, what stood out wasn’t just the tech—it was the philosophy behind it.
Green GSM is guided by three core values:
- Technology
- Civilized service
- Reliability
And those values are supported by a company culture built around what “GREEN” really means at GSM:
- Global Growth
- Result Focus
- Excellent Execution
- Energetic Interaction
- Nothing Is Impossible
With over 80,000 employees globally, GSM has built a workforce aligned with this mission—and it shows in how seriously they approach service quality.
During the launch, the drivers who were present were treated with utmost respect by the big bosses and they even went up onstage and had a short celebratory chant that gave me goosebumps.
This was a company that these drivers really wanted to be part of. I guess if you really think about it, this company took care of their drivers the way others don’t which is a shame because how is it that a Vietnamese company takes better care of their Filipino employees than Filipino employers to their employees?
Ah but that’s another topic for another day.
The Green GSM App: Simple, Convenient, and Loaded with Benefits
At the heart of the experience is the Green GSM App, now available on both Google Play and the App Store.
The app is designed for ease and convenience, with features that make booking a ride straightforward and stress-free:
Key Features of the Green GSM App:
- Quick Car Booking directly from your smartphone
- Safe & Secure rides with modern technology for transport and payments
- Multiple Payment Options, including cash, bank cards, e-wallets, business cards, and Green electronic cards
- Special Offers, including up to 50% off when booking through the app
Green GSM is also proudly positioned as the first and only app in the Philippines offering car booking and fast delivery services powered by 100% electric VinFast vehicles.
That’s a big deal.
A Growing Movement, Not Just a Service
Globally, Green GSM has already made an impact:
- 2 million+ monthly users
- 25 million customers who have experienced Green rides
- 60+ provinces covered
- 30 billion contributed to the Green Future Fund
These numbers matter because they show that this model works—not just in theory, but in real cities with real commuters.
Now, Davao gets to be part of that story.
What I Felt at the Davao Launch
Standing there in Sasa, surrounded by fellow bloggers, you could sense the collective excitement. People were talking about quieter rides, cleaner air, better options.
Everyone was optimistic about the taxi service and the future it potentially brought.
Green GSM doesn’t feel like it’s trying to replace everything overnight.
Instead, it’s offering another way to move around the city, one that aligns with where the world is heading.
And it feels good knowing that Davao is stepping into that future.
Davao City has always balanced growth with livability. Green GSM fits perfectly into that identity.
It promotes:
- Cleaner transportation
- Healthier urban environments
- Smarter use of technology
- Better everyday commuting experiences
This isn’t just about getting from Point A to Point B. It’s about how we choose to move—and what that choice says about the city we want to live in.
I walked away from the Green GSM launch genuinely excited—not just as a blogger, but as someone who lives and moves around Davao every day.
The arrival of Green GSM Taxi, powered by VinFast electric vehicles, feels like a meaningful upgrade to city life.
It’s modern without being intimidating, green without being preachy, and practical without sacrificing comfort.
And for someone who’s been rooting for VinFast since the VF-3 caught my attention?
This feels personal—in the best way possible.
Welcome to Davao, Green GSM.
I can’t wait to ride.
