It’s the new year and I still don’t have a Yamaha Fazzio 125 and I so want one.

I feel so Gen Z while writing this.

Gen Fazzio?

Heh, I wonder if that’ll catch on.

Anyway, I’m currently staying with my sister here at Eastwood and once every few days, a Yamaha Fazzio 125 zips by and re-ignites that infatuation over this iconic scooter from Yamaha.

And I’m not really a scooter guy.

Sure, I tooled around in a Yamaha Chappy back in the day but after I crashed it, I swore never to fool around with small displacement scooters anymore.

That is until I saw the Yamaha Fazzio 125.

And I’m not one who falls in love with scooters but with this one, I fell hard.

So hard that I’m here, writing about it, dreaming of owning one as soon as I get back to Davao.

Is the Yamaha Fazzio 125 the New Face of Urban Mobility?

“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” — Rachel Zoe

For those who don’t know Rachel Zoe, if you’ve ever picked up a Vogue Magazine, the style you see there is most often attributed to her influence.

She makes bohemian look chic.

And I used to live a bohemian lifestyle.

And it looks like the Yamaha Fazzio 125 is the right vehicle for someone who wants to live a bohemian lifestyle without having to deal with problems associated with vintage scooters.

I guess you could say that the Yamaha Fazzio 125 isn’t just a mode of transportation; it’s a statement, a reflection of the vibrant and dynamic spirit of the Gen Z generation with its blend of retro aesthetics and modern features.

And I know a lot of young people are gonna love this scooter especially since the celebrities who’ve attached their names to it are well-loved by their generation as well. It’s marketing at its best!

As of this month, the Yamaha Fazzio 125 is still flying off the dealer rooms at an incredible rate and I think a lot of the buyers are parents who have Gen Z kids.

The next few months should be interesting to see how these kids dress up their scooters to make it stand out in the school campus.

I think it’s safe to predict that the Yamaha Fazzio 125 is going to redefine what it means to ride in style.

A Modern Classic for the Modern Rider

Retro Design Meets Contemporary Functionality

At first glance, the Yamaha Fazzio 125 captivates with its neo-retro design.

The overall shape and the fascia along with the oval-shaped LED headlamp are reminiscent of classic scooters like, dare I say, the Vespa.

This classic look is complemented by sleek body lines and a minimalist dashboard.

It’s just clean all throughout.

Clean and sleek.

I’d say that it’s a nod to the past, reimagined for today’s urban explorer.

But don’t let its vintage charm fool you.

Underneath its classic exterior lies a host of modern features designed for the contemporary rider.

From its fully digital LCD instrument panel to the integrated USB charging port, the Fazzio 125 seamlessly blends form and function that’s just right for today’s young riders

These tech specs highlight the Fazzio’s balance between performance and practicality, making it an ideal choice for city commuting and weekend adventures alike.

Practicality Meets Style

All that performance is nothing if it can’t be a practical vehicle that parents would want to buy for their kids or people like me who want a useful but good looking scooter to tool around with.

It’s a good thing that the Fazzio goes beyond its eye-catching design and have features that are meant and built for everyday use

  • Underseat Storage: Spacious enough to fit a helmet or daily essentials.
  • Compact Dimensions: Easy maneuverability through tight city streets.
  • Lightweight Frame: At just 95 kg, it’s accessible for riders of all experience levels.

This fusion of modern practicality and style ensures that the Fazzio isn’t just a pretty face — it’s also a reliable companion for daily commutes and spontaneous adventures.

Last but Not Least, Features Tailored for the Gen Z Rider

  • Yamaha Y-Connect: Stay connected on the go. This feature syncs your smartphone with the scooter, providing real-time updates on maintenance, fuel consumption, and more.
  • Smart Motor Generator (SMG): Enjoy smoother starts and improved fuel efficiency.
  • Stop & Start System: Reduces fuel consumption by automatically shutting off the engine during prolonged stops.
  • USB Charging Port: Keep your devices powered throughout your journey. God forbid you ever get low batt which seems like an unforgivable sin these days.
  • Hazard Lamp: Enhanced safety during unexpected stops or emergencies.

These additional features make the Yamaha Fazzio Gen Z-centric.

It really is a modern scooter dressed up in old clothes.

Old, chic clothes.

Bohemian chic clothes.

Colors That Speak Volumes

Ivory White: The Timeless Choice

There’s something undeniably elegant about the Ivory White variant. It exudes sophistication and pairs effortlessly with any outfit, making it the go-to choice for riders who appreciate classic aesthetics.

And yeah, this is the color that turned me on to the Yamaha Fazzio 125. As soon as I saw it online, I was hooked. I wantd to know more about it.

And when I saw one in person driven by my bro-in-law’s friend, Tata of Tata Motor Parts.

I had to stop him and ask him about the scooter. He didn’t really have that many good things to say about it, remarking that it was slow and that he only bought it for his wife.

That didn’t turn me off completely form the idea of buying the scooter though.

I mean this is not the scooter you buy for speed.

This is the scooter that you buy for looks and going slow.

Cyan: Bold and Unapologetic but Still a Hard Sell for Me

The Cyan color variant is not for everyone. It just doesn’t look that good. Or maybe that’s just me and my personal bias against how blue it is.

It’s kinf a bubble gum blue hue that feels like it’d be better if it had more grey in it. Heck, maybe Yamaha should’ve just chosen to go with the Grey color variant rather than blue and it would probably sell more.

And I’m not totally alone in this way of thinking. Most of the dealers I’ve visited have the blue as their display vehicle because no one wants to buy them. The only reason why someone would get it is because they really have no choice and just want a Fazzio of their own and are already committed to the idea of remodeling it to fit their taste.

But I’ll give props to the Cyan color variant. When displayed under the sun, it is blindingly blue.

I have no doubt that its vibrant hue will make it stand out in traffic, turn heads and spark conversations. While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it embodies the fearless spirit of those who ride it.

The question is, do you want that amount of attention on you and your bike when you’re riding it in traffic?

Sounds like an accident about to happen. Or worse, a call to would be carnappers to take your scooter with them.

But then again, I think the white and red variants are just as attractive to thieves as the cyan one.

The Verdict: The Yamaha Fazzio 125 is a Classic Bike for Modern Times

The Philippine motorcycle market is a saturated one and its great to see something tlike the Yamaha Fazzio 125 stand out over the rest.

I’m so sick and tired of scooters wanting to look aggressive or have that racing design. The Yamaha Fazzio goes against the grain with its friendly, unassuming look.

The bottomline is that it’s a classic bike reimagined for the modern era, offering a unique blend of style, performance, and innovation.

And whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to the two-wheeled world, the Fazzio invites you to experience the joy of riding in a whole new light. It’s not just about getting from point A to B; it’s about the journey, the expression, and the statement you make along the way. As of this writing, I don’t really have any clear direction as to where to take this blog. So, a comment or an email from you telling me what to do or which direction to ake it will help me think about my future decisions about this blog.
