Seems Like Electric Vehicles are on the Rise

I don’t know if it’s just me but I think the interest in owning or driving an electric vehicle has become a more accepted idea these days for Filipinos.

We were in Greenhills a few days ago and there were EVs on display that people seemed to crowd around just as much as they would with a regular gas or diesel vehicle.

Although it seems like there were more people around the EVs.

Or maybe it’s just me.

I Remember The Time…

Ugh… this makes me sound so old but I remember the time when the thought of buying, owning, or driving an electric vehicle was a ridiculous idea.

They didn’t have the range, they didn’t have the power, and they definitely didn’t have the acceptable looks that people would be willing to embrace.

And the price tag?

Oh mama!

You needed some serious moolah to earn the ooh and ahh of owning an electric vehicle.

But nowadays, electric vehicles are no longer rare, fancy toys for the rich—they’re starting to roll into the streets of Davao city, Manila, Cebu, and everywhere in between.

What was once just a toy vehicle for car shows is now turning into a real option for the daily commuter, the weekend adventurer, and even families who just need a ride to school or work.

The Future is Now

EVs aren’t just about power.

They’re about going green and going electric—less emissions, lower fuel costs, and surprisingly, less maintenance.

For a country like ours where gas prices keep climbing, that’s no small thing. And honestly, seeing one up close, these modern EVs look really good in person.

Sleek lines, futuristic lights, and yes, you get plenty of color choices too.

So how do they work? At the simplest, an electric vehicle runs on batteries powering motors instead of diesel or gasoline.

Just gas and go. Or press the button that send electricity to the motors.

It’s the Jetson era!

And I’ve no doubt in my mind that more and more people are going to embrace the idea of owning an EV in the near future.

Electric Vehicles aren’t just the future. They’re already here, and they’re ready for everyone.
