So here we are… checking the Samsung Galaxy A37 5G out. A phone my fellow members in the Davao Bloggers Society have been checking out and man oh man I am tempted to get this one over the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G because it seems to be a more practical choice.

Released April 9, 2026, the A37 5G runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5, and Samsung is committing to 6 major Android upgrades, which means support running well into the future. For a midrange phone, that is important if you’re not someone who upgrades every year.
The display is a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel running at 120Hz, with peak brightness of 1900 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ at Mohs level 5 hardness.
Out in the open, under direct sun, the screen stays readable. That matters a lot when you’re outdoors running a farm most of the day.
Under the hood is the Exynos 1480 chipset built on a 4nm process, with an octa-core CPU (4×2.75GHz Cortex-A78 and 4×2.0GHz Cortex-A55) and an Xclipse 530 GPU, paired with 6 to 12GB of RAM depending on configuration.
Storage comes in 128GB or 256GB options. Like the A57, it also doesn’t have a card slot.
The body is built with a glass front and back (both Gorilla Glass Victus+) and a plastic frame, weighing 196g at 7.4mm thick, with IP68 dust and water resistance rated for immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

That IP68 rating gives me peace of mind because it sometimes rains without warning and I have to walk or run a fair distance before I can find any respectable shelter.
A tree may shield you from most of the rain but droplets will still find you if it’s a strong enough rain.
And a tree is no fun to stay under if there’s lightning…
So… thank God for IP68 ratings allowing the A37 5G to withstand some good sloshing.
Battery capacity sits at 5000mAh with 45W fast charging.
On the camera side, the 50MP main sensor with improved Nightography handles dimmer light settings better than expected.

There’s also the Object Eraser that can clean up shots where unwanted people or objects either wandered into oe are in the frame.
Small thing, but genuinely useful.
Color-wise, I’m a fan of the Awesome Lavender.

It looks good in the photographs really well and doesn’t look like every other phone on the table.
At this point, I’m sick of the basic black colored gadget or stuff for men.
I need some color.
Case in point, my Maya Pink Glitter Card and my Orange MariBank…

Price-wise, the 256GB variant is currently at ₱20,990 (down from ₱27,990) until June 30, with up to ₱7,170 in combined savings including free Care+ warranty, travel adapter, and case.
Between the two… I think this is the one.
